 The meat of the putassu is very pleasant, resembling the taste of navaga. It is a good table fish that can be used for preparing culinary products. Its liver is a good raw material for natural canned products. The liver oil of this fish contains 3,400 iu/g vitamin A and 68 y/g vitamin E. Due to its small size, it is best processed as a whole fish.
